Who Stole My Car?!

Much anxiety must surround my life with this one. I'm at work, but not, as this location is completely unknown. Surrounded by many people, mostly young, I recognize a few from my old, childhood neighborhood, middle school, and high school. We are supposedly in college where I work...and I'm naked. Yes, we love the naked dreams. Luckily, it only represents a feeling of vulnerability and not actually forgetting to wear clothing.

I get up, wrap a coat around me, and walk out to the parking lot. Looking around, I cannot locate my car. Realizing it must've been stolen, I call the police. Since we can't read in dreams, I don't know how I dialed, but the nonchalant man on the other end said he couldn't spare a car but kept me on the phone talking. I explained that I had the keys, and it had been locked, so it must've been a professional. It wouldn't have been towed away since I am an employee there. While talking about my car and getting angrier by the moment of the audacity of someone, I overhear a young man claiming the same of his car. We found his coat hanging on a pole, and my navy blue blazer, both of which we left in our cars. For the record, I've never owned a navy blue blazer.

Walking around to try to find the car myself, others have joined us, going in various directions. One lady claimed I misinformed her and stated it was a 2008 Mitsubishi, which I have never owned. I shouted that those words never left my lips and that my car was a 2014 Cadillac SRX. This is actually true. Go dream for being correct about something.

I wondered through sketchy garages where men worked on cars, junk yards, and fields. Everywhere I looked was junky cars. I approached a fence of burgundy, corrugated metal and opened the gate, explaining my steps to the policeman on the phone the entire time. I look in the gate and actually see nothing but tell the cop, "No, that's a bull." I turn to walk up an incline through weeds and a rusty, old tow truck and tell the cop I just walked through poison ivy.

It seems I'm wandering for hours and looking at hundreds of cars. I tell the cop I need to call my mom and tell her why I'm late and text my husband what happened. He tells me to stay on the line with him. Finally, he says he thinks he sees me and tells me to jump up and down, so I do. He replies affirmatively and tells me to turn around. I see an average looking man in plain clothes and approach him. He tells me he's found my car and points towards some. He says I will need to replace all my chrome. I'm pretty sure it's plastic and not real chrome. I finally find the car he mentions up on a rack with a man working underneath it, removing a piece of the framing trim. Though it looks odd, I can see my Mogwai stickers on the window and the wrong license plate but claim that it is my car, my Gizmo. I really do have Mogwai stickers and a license plate that says GIZMO. The cop arrests the man. I feel angry and violated.

What all does this mean? It could be telling me that I feel vulnerable and unsafe at work. I care a lot about my car, my material possessions, but in dreams, cars could represent going places or movement in our lives. So, perhaps I'm feeling stagnant in my job. Someone stealing your car could mean that you feel like you're riding on someone else's hard work or lack confidence in the forward movement of your life. So, this anxiety-driven dream is telling me that I feel stagnant.
